How to Prepare for Your Appointment
What to Wear
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing such as a T-shirt, yoga pants, or gym shorts. You do not need to undress for treatment, though you may be asked to remove shoes, belts, or bulky layers.
Important: For the safety of chemically sensitive patients and myself, please do not wear:
Perfume or cologne
Scented lotions or essential oils
Recently laundered clothes with heavily fragranced detergent
You may be asked to reschedule if fragrances are present.
What to Bring
To help make the most of your time, please bring:
A list of current medications
Any prior imaging or diagnostic results related to your symptoms (CDs or reports welcome)
A brief medical history (past surgeries, relevant diagnoses, etc.)
What to Expect
Your first visit includes:
A detailed discussion of your current health concerns
A thorough review of your medical history and anything else you wish to share
A physical exam focused on the areas related to your concerns
A hands-on osteopathic treatment, if time allows
A collaborative treatment plan, which may include follow-ups, gentle movement recommendations, or lifestyle considerations
The treatment consists of a blend of gentle manipulation, body-based listening, and neuromuscular rebalancing.
Treatments are always individualized and guided by comfort and consent. If any technique involves sensitive areas, I will always explain thoroughly and request your permission before proceeding.
Will I see anyone else?
No. I currently run a solo practice, so all communication, care, and treatment will be with me directly.
After Treatment
After your session, I recommend:
Taking it easy for the rest of the day
Avoiding intense exercise or alcohol
Following an anti-inflammatory diet - a handout will be provided
Using ice or OTC pain relief for any mild soreness, if needed
Some patients feel immediate relief, while others notice changes over a few days. It’s normal to feel a bit more physically or emotionally aware after treatment — your body is recalibrating.
What Happens Next?
If we agree that OMT is supporting your goals, we’ll discuss a plan for continued care.
Your first follow-up is typically scheduled 2 weeks after your initial visit
After that, most patients come in every 4–8 weeks, or as needed during flares or stressful times
This care rhythm is flexible and always based on your response, needs, and life context.
Final Thoughts
This practice was built to offer slower, more spacious care — to listen deeply to what your body is telling us. I’m grateful to be part of your healing process and look forward to working together.
If you have any questions or specific needs before your visit, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
